This report equips founders and fintechs with data-driven insights to move beyond a monolithic view of the women of Bharat. Using data from the 2022-23 Periodic Labour Force Survey (PLFS), it identifies distinct customer segments based on occupational status and areas of employment. The study offers population-level breakdowns and detailed profiles of the eight largest segments in both rural and urban India. The goal is to help fintechs and founders move from broad assumptions to creating targeted, data-backed financial solutions for women.
